Risotto

Risotto, a beloved Italian dish, is a creamy rice preparation that exemplifies the art of Italian cooking. Ingredient List
- 200g arborio
- 1 large onion
- 25g butter
- salt and pepper
- 600ml boiling water
- 1 stock cube
- 1 bay leaf
- Dried oregano
- Any topping
Directions
Step 1
Prepare stock; use a measuring jug and crumble cube into the boiling water.
Step 2
Melt the fat in a large pan and gently fry the onions to soften them.
Step 3
Add the rice; mix well to ensure grains are lightly coated with fat

Add the hot stock, stirring with a wooden spoon. Bring to the boil and add bay lea oregano, salt and pepper.
Step 5
Once boiling, tum down the heat to simmer the risotto. Keep the lid tilted slightly Stir occasionally to stop mixture sticking to the base of the pan.
Step 6
Cook for 15 minutes. Then, add additional ingredients and cook for a further minutes. Remove bay leaf before serving
