Apple Crumble

Ingredient List

  • 500g of fruit
  • 100g sugar/50g sugar with 50g raisins
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 200g plain white flour
  • 100g butter/margarine
  • 50g white sugar

Directions

Step 1

Preheat oven to 180oC

Step 2

Make the crumble topping - in a large mixing bowl put the flour, oats and fat. Using the rubbing in method, rub the fat into the flour using fingertips until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs.

Step 3

Stir in the sugar. Leave to one side.

Step 4

Prepare the fruit - peel, core and thinly slice the apples. Prepare other fruits if using.

Step 5

In the oven proof dish layer the fruit, sugar and cinnamon if adding.

Step 6

Carefully spread the crumble mixture over thee top of the fruit.

Step 7

Sprinkle other toppings and bake for 20-30 minutes until the top is golden brown.
